Weeks 1 & 2 Summer Camps

Our Summer Camp kicks off with Cooking Camp. Children will learn kitchen safety, use of appliances and utensils correctly, liquid and dry measures, and cook various foods on their own with help from our staff. Our 2nd Week is Cowboys and Pottery Crafts week. Loads of fun in store for all ages!!

Kitchen Safety, Tools in the kitchen, measuring, recipes
Cookies and Cakes from Scratch Choice of Peanut Butter or Chocolate Chip Cookies
Choice of Jell-O Cake or Cake Mix Flavor w/icing..
Each child will make one batch of cookies and one small cake from scratch Children will begin their own cookbook today!
Outdoor activity: Kick ball Game
Craft: Decorating our Cakes
Snack: Cookies and milk/juice


 

 

6/17
Chocolate, Chocolate & more Chocolate!!
Chocolate covered strawberry's, Chocolate Dipped Bananas with nuts, chocolate covered Peanut Butter Balls, Chocolate Suckers and candies.
Each Child will make one small platter and learn presentation of food.
Outdoor Activity: Relay Races, Parachute Fun, nature walk
Snack: Fresh Carrots & Graham crackers  Lemonade

6/18
Pizzas and fun with veggies & fruits!
Children will make their own dough, and then top off there pizzas with their choice of many toppings and cheeses.
Creative ideas for presenting fruits and vegetables. Each child will make a tray of mixed fruit and veggie s displayed with a theme by the child.
Outdoor Activity: Frisbee challenge, Water & Spoon Race, Giant Ball Play.
Snack: Chips, dip & soda Pop.

6/19
How to use a microwave, a toaster, a can opener, a crockpot, a mixer, a blender, and a waffle iron.
Children will make smoothies, Jell-O aquariums, bagels and toast w/jam, Belgium waffles with toppings complete the cooking lesson for today.
Outdoor Activity: Water balloon toss, squirt gun fun, hoola-hoops, bats and balls, volleyball game.
Snack: Popsicle and Cheezits

6/20  Finish Cookbooks, Review Kitchen Safety, cooking on the stove
Children will assist with safe stove top cooking to include ground beef, egg omelets and boiling water for eggs and hot dogs. Children will make tacos, omelets & Pancakes.
Outdoor Activity: Simon Says, Kite flying, bubble making, water color painting.
Snack: Popcorn, Apples & Juice



Week Two Craft & Pottery Camp 6/23-627
Camp Itinerary
Now is the Time To Teach Them To:

Work with their hands, imagination, creativity, concentration, self expression and learn to be helpful to others. . Children will work with clay, a potters wheel, beads, & nature to create works of art. The theme is also Cowboys!! A Weiner and marshmallow roast is planned for Wed. Children encouraged to dress all week as cowboys, cowgirls, Indians, or any other old west character.

Free handed Clay Day
Children will use clay in free form, with the aid of clay tools to create a sculpture or work of art. They will learn to knead the clay to texture, roll, twist, and work with water to shape and mold the clay, how to use various clay instruments for shaping and texturing the clay.
Outdoor Activity: Cowboy Lasso game, Pony Races/broom stick, nature walk.
Snack: Cowboy bread and milk/juice

 

6/24
Indian Headdresses and Beads for Pocahontas
Children will create beautiful Headdresses from feathers and make jewelry for girls and boys out of beads and misc. stringing items. Children are encouraged to use natural items such as leaves, sticks, pine cones etc. to create their projects. They will learn about trading between the Indians and the cowboys and other tidbits of wild west history.
Outdoor Activity: Cowboy games, Hay Stack  scramble treasure hunt, Wheel barrel races.
Snack: Cowboy Biscuits & honey or Jam. Juice/Water

6/25
COWBOY RANGE DAY!!
Campfire, Weiner and marshmallow roasting, and lots of fun! Come dressed as your favorite wild west character.! Create Dream Catchers, Canoes, and more crafts. Go on a bug hunt, a safari and a roundup!
Contests and Crafts and organized fun !!
Outdoor Activities: Bug Hunt, Safari Hunt, Crafts and Roast for each age group.
Snack: Weiner, beans, chips, cake. Milk/juice/H2O

 

6/26
Clay, play dough, paste and glue Day!
Child will work with a potters wheel, experiment with play-dough, Create Giant western guitars and use lots of glue and paste today having fun creating multiple projects.
Outdoor Activities: Jump House, shoot the tin can carnival game, Cowboy songs, sack races , and photos with parrot taken today!
Snack: Cookies and Milk/Juice

 

6/27
Pinata Day!
Children will make their very own Pinata today! From start to finish! Then they will get 1 bag of goodies and one bag of toys to fill it with! They will make their own pinata stick too!  Children will finish up any projects and created frames for their parrot photos.
Outdoor Activity: Cowboys and Indians kickball game, archery course.
Snack: Wild West Cupcakes and milk/juice
