Week Seven The Great Outdoors Camp  8/4-8/8
Now is the Time To Teach Them To:

Survive the great outdoors, learn camping skills, Build a campfire, signal for help and some lifesaving skills. We will also discuss wild berries and plants, poison ivy and poison oak recognition & more!! We will play lots of new outdoor gams and experience the full wonders of nature!

Camping can be fun
Discuss all the items needed for a good safe camping adventure. Learn how to us a flashlight, lantern, cook stove, inflation pump, how to pitch a tent and of course, camping food!! Older children learn to whittle.
Outdoor Activity: Tag the bear game and Ranger says elimination game.
Craft: Dinosaur magnets & Animal necklace
Snack: Tent Cookies and Milk/Juice/H2O

Fishing, Hunting and Trapping!
Learn how o fish with a real rod. How to bait a hook or use safety hooks. Lures and Fly tying. Shooting a bow and arrow (Safe One of course!), how to set an animal trap using string, a stick and a bucket! Practice casting a rod. Learn about the different baits and dig for worms! Learn about fish and hunted animals , as well as some of the Washington State hunting Laws.
Outdoor activities : Bear hunt and game of kick ball or dodge ball!
Craft: Design your own foam fish & A Teddy Bear Necklace
Snack: Ritz crackers and cheese Juice/H2O

Game Day!
Play capture the flag, I spy, the camping ABC game, Jump rope, hopscotch, four square, Hot Potato, Musical chairs and more outdoor fun games. Today's activities will all be outdoor gams!
Craft: Color your own sport paddle ball game & Make a Magnetic foam fishing game!
Snack: Oranges, grapes and granola bars

Playing with nature!
Build a Stonehenge today! The famous astrological clock! Have fun balancing rocks to make statues! Take your cameras for a walk (All children need a disposable camera today!) Prints will be made at our expense! Create a Pet Rock and add it to the rock garden or take it  home!
Craft: Building a log house with sticks and paste.
Outdoor Activity: Jumping Rope & Slo pitch softball game!
Snack: Grapes and Saltine w/peanut butter Milk/Juice H20

Finish our nature books! Finish up any crafts or activities stared during the week. Build sand castles today! Go on a scavenger hunt for goodies and prizes, build a sundial and Create a chalk outline!
Outdoor activities:  Free choices today. Children may choose from game room and out door activities or crafts to participate in.
Snack: Oranges and cheezits Juice/h20

Week Eight Drama and Theater Camp! 8/11-8/15
Now is the Time To Teach Them To:

Dance, Acting, theater, performing arts, singing, karate, fencing, stunts, and more! This is an exciting camp is full of imagination, creativity, self expression and fun!
Children will explore the opera, the stage, the movies and more!! Musical instruments of clarinet, tambourine, trumpet, bugle, violin and more will be on hand for children to try! Children will perform a play on Friday!

Introduction to Music and things that make noise!
Children will talk about their favorite music ,try musical instruments, listen to different types of music and create there own bands! Sing Karaoke today! Children will learn to play a recorder this week! Begin discussing our play!
Crafts: Create a puppet & Design your own rain sticks!
Outdoor Activities: King of the mountain, tag & kick ball game.
Snack: Grapes and Ritz cracker Juice/H2O

Drama and Theater
Lets talk about folklore, myths and legends in books! We will talk about poetry and stage! Children will write their own poems and participate in a group play of the three little pigs! They will learn how to turn a book into a play or skit. Discuss our play ideas for Friday!
Craft: They will make invitations to our play! Giant paper costumes today!
Outdoor Activities: Climbing, jumping, crawling, slithering, skipping, running, somersaults and more!
Snack: Ice cream cones or popsicle

Stunts and make believe!
Children will learn karate today! They will learn fencing and wrestling. They will learn how to jump, roll, fall safely! They will challenge themselves at an obstacle course! We will discuss make believe with ghosts, monsters, dragons and unicorns.
Craft: Make Fairy wands and merlin hats today!
Outdoor Activities: Bounce house, squirt gun fun and sprinkler fun
Snack: Oreo cookies and milk/juice/h20

8/14
Children will practice our play today! Children will create scenery, masks and finish their costumes.
Craft: Painting, coloring and decorating scenery. Create your own giant sunglasses today!
Outdoor activities: A game of dodge ball and some water fun!
Snack: mini corn dogs and oranges juice/h20

TODAY IS OUR PLAY! PARENTS, FAMILY AND FRIENDS WELCOME! 10:00 - 11:00 with Goodies  served afterwards! 2:00-3:00 with goodies served afterwards for older group! Awards at the end of each performance for each child!
